What are the ANTLeaders all about?
Our platform is committed to fostering a campus environment that prioritizes student success, well-being, and engagement. Though each officer has specific roles, we are united by our shared values of:
Basic Needs Advocacy
Academic Excellence
Student Support & Safety
Strengthening ASUCI-RCO Relationships
Increasing Transparency
Promote Inclusivity on Campus
Enhancing Student Experience
Our collective vision is to create a more accessible, connected, and student-centered UC Irvine, where every undergraduate has the tools and resources they need to thrive. Here’s how our team plans on making this vision a reality…
Academic Excellence
Strengthening Academic Resources and Accessibility
Education is at the core of the student experience, and we are committed to advocating for stronger academic support systems that meet the diverse needs of UCI students. We will work to expand research opportunities, collaborate with academic departments and UROP to ensure students can engage in meaningful research, and push for consistent, transparent course planning to give students more control over their academic journey. Additionally, we aim to enhance academic counseling accessibility, implement a postgraduate resource guide, and advocate for equitable access to study spaces, libraries, and discipline-specific resources. We believe every student, regardless of their major, should have access to high-quality advising and academic opportunities that help them prepare for their future.
Student Support & Safety
Enhancing Mental Health and Campus Well-Being
We recognize that students, particularly those in STEM and other rigorous fields, face immense academic pressure that can take a toll on their mental health. Our team will work to expand mental health resources across campus, advocating for greater integration of counseling services into academic departments and encouraging student organizations (RCOs) to host social and wellness-focused events that foster peer support. Additionally, we will advocate for mental health programs including workshops, conferences, and networking socials tailored to different student populations, ensuring that every student feels supported in balancing their academic, personal, and professional responsibilities.
A secure and supportive campus environment is fundamental to student well-being and academic success. No student should have to second-guess their safety when walking at night or attending campus events. However, concerns remain regarding inadequate lighting, emergency response times, and the transparency of campus safety measures. Additionally, marginalized and undocumented students face unique barriers that must be directly addressed.
To strengthen campus safety, we will advocate for increased transparency in UCIPD’s reporting of hate crimes and discrimination cases, ensuring students have access to vital information. We will push for earlier engagement with the Public Safety Advisory Committee to allow for timely student advocacy. By implementing a system of consistent data reviews on student sentiment and campus climate, we will identify trends related to safety concerns, including cases of sexual assault and burglary, and work with UCIPD to improve response strategies.
Furthermore, we will integrate campus safety liaisons from relevant departments to improve cross-campus communication on security issues. Recognizing the importance of student wellness, we will explore the possibility of transferring Be Well OC—a mental health crisis response service—under the UCI Counseling Center to make crisis support more accessible and reduce potential barriers for students seeking help.
Lastly, in addition to safety concerns, we will advocate for greater support for undocumented students by collaborating with the Office of Academic Affairs to ensure they have equitable access to on-campus employment and professional development opportunities.
Strengthening ASUCI-RCO Relationships
Student organizations (RCOs) are the heart of student life, providing spaces for connection, leadership development, and professional growth. We believe ASUCI must be a stronger bridge between student organizations and administration, ensuring that RCOs have the funding, visibility, and institutional support they need to succeed. Our team will establish an RCO Council of Presidents, streamline funding application processes (SPFB), and create a dedicated ASUCI commission under the Office of the Internal Vice President to represent RCO interests. By directly involving student organizations in ASUCI’s internal operations, we will ensure that student voices shape policies and decisions that impact campus life.
Effective and consistent communication between ASUCI and student organizations is essential to fostering a thriving campus community. We will establish regular communication channels, such as monthly check-ins, newsletters, and dedicated office hours, to ensure RCOs are consistently updated on available resources, upcoming events, and funding opportunities. By improving transparency and accessibility, we will create a feedback loop that allows student organizations to voice concerns, share ideas, and receive timely support. This proactive approach will help bridge gaps between student government and campus organizations, ensuring a more collaborative and well-supported environment for all RCOs.
Basic Needs Advocacy
No student should have to choose between paying for food, housing, or their education. We are dedicated to expanding awareness of CalFresh benefits, improving visibility of the Basic Needs Center, and increasing access to financial aid protections. Additionally, we will work to expand the Anteater Safety Net Grant, reduce campus food waste, and advocate for solutions to housing-related challenges. Our goal is to make UCI a place where students feel financially secure and supported throughout their academic careers.
Increasing Transparency
ASUCI should be an institution that students trust to represent their voices and advocate for real change. Our team will prioritize transparency by implementing a live ASUCI Transparency Dashboard, hosting monthly presidential town halls, and ensuring student representatives maintain open communication with the student body. We will also actively review campus climate data, address student concerns, and push for structural reforms to make ASUCI a more approachable and effective student government. Through these efforts, we will empower students to engage with ASUCI and hold their representatives accountable.
Promoting Inclusivity on Campus
Our efforts will contribute to assembling a dynamic and passionate team of dedicated staff members who are fully committed to our mission of planning and executing exceptional events that cater to the diverse needs and interests of all undergraduate students at UCI. I aim to create an environment where a team of hardworking individuals, each bringing their unique perspectives and creative ideas, can collaborate to design experiences that foster a sense of belonging and excitement within the UCI community. By promoting a culture of inclusivity and innovation, we aim to ensure that every student feels welcomed, inspired, and empowered to proudly express their Anteater pride in meaningful ways.
Enhancing Student Experience
Our team will work to ensure greater student involvement in the decision-making process of the Office of the Student Services Vice President (SSVP). Student voices should be at the forefront of shaping the initiatives and programs that directly impact their experience. To achieve this, we plan to establish an open forum throughout the entire 2025-2026 academic year, where students will have the opportunity to actively engage, provide feedback, and share their opinions. This platform will not only allow students to express their ideas and concerns but also foster a stronger sense of connection between the student body and the decisions that affect them, ultimately ensuring that their perspectives are heard and valued.
Within this forum, we invite all undergraduate students at UCI to share their input on what they’d like to see at our events, offer constructive feedback, and propose any new ideas for future events they would like to experience. Your voices are invaluable, and we encourage everyone to contribute thoughts that will help shape our community and create more engaging and impactful experiences for all.
Our team is built on the principle that students should be at the center of every decision that affects them. Through academic advocacy, mental health initiatives, student organization support, basic needs advocacy, and increased transparency, our team is committed to making ASUCI a more student-driven and impactful organization. Together, we will work to create a stronger, more supportive, and more connected UCI community.
Our team is committed to not just introducing new initiatives, but also building upon and strengthening existing efforts that have already been established at ASUCI. Many of the issues students face—academic accessibility, mental health, financial wellness, and student engagement—have been addressed in various ways by previous student leaders, faculty, and campus departments. However, gaps remain, and our team aims to expand, refine, and institutionalize these initiatives so they better serve the evolving needs of the student body. Whether it’s improving the accessibility of academic opportunities, enhancing student organization funding structures, or ensuring transparency within ASUCI, we recognize the work that has been done and are ready to take it to the next level.
For example, efforts have been made to support student organizations (RCOs) through funding opportunities like the Student Programming Funding Board (SPFB), but many organizations still struggle with the complexity of the application process and inconsistent access to ASUCI resources. By creating a dedicated RCO Council of Presidents and reforming internal ASUCI structures, we will streamline communication, increase collaboration, and ensure that student organizations are better supported financially and logistically. Similarly, while mental health resources have expanded in recent years, students often face unique challenges that are not fully addressed. By partnering with student clubs and faculty, we will advocate for academic mentorship, peer networking events, and wellness workshops tailored specifically for all students.
Each of us brings years of student government and leadership experience that uniquely qualifies us to implement these initiatives effectively. We understand the bureaucratic challenges within ASUCI and the university administration, and we know how to navigate these systems to create tangible results. Through our experiences in various leadership roles, we have worked with faculty, administration, and student organizations, equipping us with the skills to advocate effectively and implement policies that directly impact students' lives.
Together, our collective experience, institutional knowledge, and deep passion for student advocacy make us a team that is not only prepared to lead but also to elevate and expand upon past efforts. We are not starting from scratch—we are building on existing programs, strengthening them with student input, and ensuring their longevity so future students continue to benefit. Through intentional outreach, transparency, and unwavering commitment to student needs, we are prepared to take ASUCI to new heights and create a lasting, meaningful impact on UCI’s student body.
